THINGS TO DO IN ZANZIBAR

MASINGINI FOREST

This rare known Forest Reserve was declared a Reserve in 1959 and is the only water catchment area and the highest point in Zanzibar – 195m (640ft).

Masingini Forest covers an area of 556 Hectares.

This is the best place for walking and recently Red Colobus monkeys have been introduced and they are doing well and other species of animals and birds too.

KUZA CAVE

The circular – shape cave in Jambiani Zanzibar is a result of over 250,000 of rain water eroding the Limestone where a large natural Rock sculpture in the shape of Elephant is formed.

The cave is used by the locals as an Altar to make offerings to the spirits who live in the cave to request their support.

Cooking class, Drumming lessons, swimming are among the activities offered at Kuza cultural group.

SUNSET CRUISES

Zanzibar Island has the best sunset cruises point in Africa. This can be observed almost everywhere in the Island but Kendwa Beach, Kae beach, Stone town and South coast host the best sunsets.

Sail in a traditional wooden Dhow while listening to Music and perhaps a drink and snacks.

BLUE LAGOON AND STARFISH

You will be able to swim with the largest fish concentration in the Island and also different species of Starfish at Michamvi Beach in the East Coast.

SWIMMING WITH HORSES

Enjoy either swimming with Horses for 30 minutes or 1hour ride along the beach.

CHEETAH’S ROCK

This is an animal rescue Centre established in 2014 aiming to protect the endangered animals such as the white Lion and provide them with good health, freedom and happiness they deserve.

Visiting them you will be supporting them.

Visiting local villages in Zanzibar is the only way to encounter with local Zanzibaris. Visit them by walking, biking, driving or with Quad.

People here are still living in remote life; no electricity or cars in this Island. Cultural visits, snorkeling and Diving is possible on request.

DAR ES SALAAM

“The Haven of Peace” is one of the oldest cities to emerge along the East Coast of the Indian Ocean. Dar es Salaam is the commercial city of The United Republic of Tanzania which is only 30 kilometers from Zanzibar.

A day trip is possible from Zanzibar by fast Ferries that start from 07:00am up to 4pm daily both sides or by flight that takes 20-30minutes. Visit markets, Museums, schools and hospitals among many more.

Zanzibar has more than twenty historical caves to visit.

Some of them are; Kuza cave, Fukuchani, Slave Chambers among many more.

MAFIA ISLAND “ZANZIBAR OF THE MAINLAND TANZANIA”

Mafia Island in the Southern Coast of Tanzania is a precious discovery for watersports and swimming with Whale-shark. October to April is the best time to visit Mafia Island.

PEMBA ISLAND

Pemba is the second largest Island that makes Zanzibar archipelago – Unguja being the largest of more than 50 Islands in Zanzibar.

Visiting Pemba is normally by flight though Ferries exist but they are only slow Sea links that serve the Island taking more than 5 hours while the flight is about an hour.

Pemba hosts the Deepest sea Diving and fishing in archipelago.

RENTALS

We have both self-drive and private hiring around the country. We rent Bicycles, Scooters, Motorbikes, Boats and different types of vehicles to meet your demand.

No International driving license is required to drive in Zanzibar, but one will be required to have a local driving permit plus your home driving license.

The local permit lasts for 30 days.

 

UZI ISLAND.

Uzi Island is an Island in the south of Zanzibar main Island – Unguja, connected by causeway to the main Unguja Ukuu ruins.

This Island is 6km (3.7 miles) wide, making it the second largest of small Islands after Tumbatu.

The Island is undeveloped and contains less than 500 hundred occupants who temporarily dwell therefor fishing. Like Tumbatu, Uzi Island has no hotel, school, hospital and electricity. Tourism activities in this Island include, Kayaking, Village walk, Fishing, camping, Mangrove walk and snorkeling.

MTENDE BEACH.

This is the rarest visited and less known Beach in the Southern coast of Zanzibar.

This beach is very beautiful with very quiet atmosphere.

The main section of this beach is situated between two rocks formation hence giving it the best “Hidden paradise”

We offer full beach relaxation with private lunch.

PUNGUME SANDBANK (ISLAND).

This is like Nakupenda Sandbank and Safari blue but the only difference is the location and a possibility to see Dolphins.

Snorkeling, swimming and feast of seafood and for those who don’t eat seafood are welcomed too.
