Why Travel with Us

Day 1: Prison Island, Nakupenda Sandbank

At 0900am you will be taken from your hotel for a full day at Prison Island and Nakupenda (I love you) Sandbank. Prison Island was formerly owned by an Arab and was privately used as a place of detention for disobedient slaves. It was built in 1893 as a central prison for Zanzibar, hence the name “PRISON ISLAND”.

You will be able to see Giant Tortoises, Dik dik, Peacock, Prison Chamber, Mangrove forest and perhaps swim and snorkel if interested. In the early afternoon you will move to Nakupenda Island and sandbank (30 minutes) by boat. This is the ideal place near stone town where you can relax, swim, and snorkel while enjoying your BBQ of seafood, soft and hard drinks, tropical fruits under the shade of built umbrellas. Lunch will be ready at 1pm. In the evening you may join another tour – sunset cruise starting at 5 – 7pm daily (optional).

Day 2: Blue Safari

We leave stone town/your hotel at 0900am to Fumba village where our sailing boat will be awaiting to take us to Kwale Island for BLUE WATER SAFARI – The highlight of Zanzibar. We will sail in a beautiful traditional wooden dhow, watch Dolphins (if we have a chance of seeing them) at play, snorkel over the reefs of Menai Bay conservation area, feast on a swahili influenced seafood buffet that include Fish on coconut source, Rice, French Fries, Calamari, Lobster, Prawns, tropical fruits etc.

We will visit a Baobab tree believed to be more than 500years old before sailing back to Fumba village where our car will be waiting to take you to your hotel for dinner and overnight.

Early breakfast and leave for Mnemba Island Dolphin tour. You will have a chance to swim with Dolphins, snorkeling, swimming, and sunbathing and picnic tropical fruits and soft drinks before sailing back to the shores.

In the afternoon drive to Baraka’s Turtles Aquarium where you will have a chance to swim with Sea Turtles if you would like to. Beach relaxation at the North – West coast at Kendwa waiting for the most magnificent sunset cruise (optional).

Day 4: Beach, Spice Farms, Dsm/Airport

Morning at leisure at the beach followed by a transfer to stone town via spice farms. You will have a chance to eat, smell and taste different fruits and spices to learn why Zanzibar is called a spice Island. Lunch will be in the farm to taste spicy food prepared by local women group there.
