Arrive Arusha/Tarangire Park

Pickup from airport and drive to Tarangire National Park for a full day of game drives famously known for its elephant migration, birding, and its unparalleled game viewing opportunities.

There will be lots of time for taking pictures while enjoying its amazing scenery and the sight of animals freely roaming in their own habitat. Have lunch in the great outdoors then continue with game drives until the African sun begins to set. Before sunset leave the park and drive to your accommodation for overnight. (accommodation on own)

Day 3: 01 January 2022

Ngorongoro Crater

Early morning descent into the Ngorongoro Crater game viewing on the World Heritage Site – Ngorongoro Crater. The crater is home to the largest African mammals.

Here it is possible to see elephants, prides of lion, hippos, a resident herd of wildebeest, zebra, various gazelles, baboons and the black rhino.  In the afternoon drive back to Arusha for drop off.

Day 1: Zanzibar – Tarangire

Depart from Zanzibar by 07:30am flight arriving in Arusha at 09:30am and go straight to Tarangire National Park (2hrs drive) for a full day animal viewing. Picnic lunch will be in the park.

Tarangire National Park is a gathering of Giants in a picture-perfect African landscape. The undulating savannah woodland, dotted with majestic baobabs – many of which are estimated to be over 2000 years old. Tarangire National Park has the largest elephant population in Northern Tanzania. And when the dust blows the plains dry, game viewing is nothing less than breathtaking. Late in the dry season, the park hosts the highest density of wildlife of almost anywhere on the whole continent.

In the evening we will drive to Lake Manyara for dinner and overnight in a hotel/campsite on the rim of the Great Eastern Arm Rift Valley that runs from Turkey to Beira in Mozambique – 6000km long.

Day 2: Ngorongoro Crater – Zanzibar

After breakfast (07:00am) we will depart for Ngorongoro crater for animal viewing.

Picnic lunch will be in the crater floor.

The jewel in Ngorongoro’s crown is a deep volcanic crater- the largest un- flooded and unbroken caldera in the world. About 20km across, 600m deep and about 300km square in area. It is one of the African highest densities of wildlife.

In the afternoon (3pm) drive to Kilimanjaro International airport for the 19:40hrs flight to Zanzibar (1hr) flight.

Dinner and overnight in your selected hotel in Zanzibar.
